Ashanti - The Declaration

Normally when I critique an album I do it after my second listen but I just wanted to get this one over and done with as I didn't think my mind was going to chance that quickly. An album I found myself changing my mind after probably the 3rd listen was Jolin Tsai's Agent J which at start I felt seemed very reused but afterwards I started liking it and I found myself listening to the plug songs over and over again! Anyway back to the topic of The Declaration.
I found myself really liking the album at the start with "The Way That I Love You" and "Your Gonna Miss" being two songs that I liked however after a while I just found the songs repetitive and nothing really stood out after the third or fourth song for me - that's why I normally rate things after the second listening because it gives me time to reflect on it. Anyway I ascept I may come to like the album after a second listening I found the first time I listened to it being kind of boring. I found most songs around average or slightly below whilst "So Over You" and "Mother" stood out from the many repetitive songs for me. The one song I didn't like was "Things You Make Me Do" It just sounded awkward to me.
In the end this album is an average album in my opinion, it has it's selection of good songs but after you get past those you don't have much to listen to. If I do listen to it again and change my opinion I will post it on here.
